Our Journey
2015
David Simões, a Portuguese national and future founder of Sounds Good Agency, moved to Brno and started working at the development agency Ents. Just a year later, he began leading their e-commerce department with a focus on Shopify solutions.
2016
We became the first developers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to receive the Shopify Experts certification. Most companies are merely Shopify Partners — a status anyone can obtain by registering for the Shopify Partner program. The Shopify Experts certification is awarded only to agencies that have been individually vetted by Shopify directly.
2018
Sounds Good Agency is established as an independent development company specialising exclusively in Shopify. We earned 80+ reviews with an average rating of 5/5, and built a Fakturoid integration following the introduction of the EET (Electronic Sales Records) act. We also became one of the few Shopify Experts worldwide with access to the Shopify Hosted Payment SDK, which enabled us to build integrations with GoPay and ComGate.
2022
Over the preceding years we had the opportunity to work not only for over a hundred e-commerce companies from around the world, but also for well-known local brands such as Mana, Okay.cz, Ledvance, ETA, and GoPay.
This year also brought a moment where David had to choose between family and business. Due to illness in the family, he decided to step back from the business and sell the agency to two colleagues — Robin Navrátil and João Antunes.
2023
David decided to exercise his buyback option and reacquired a 30% stake in the agency. Shopsys, the domestic leader in custom e-commerce development, acquired Sounds Good, the local leader in custom Shopify development.
This strategic move allows us to expand our service portfolio, increase accessibility to a broader segment of the e-commerce market, and accelerate growth. 2024
Sounds Good, Shopsys, Reservio, Smartsupp, and Survio join forces to form the ABUGO group. This allows us to offer a broader technology portfolio under one roof. The combined annual revenue of the newly formed holding is approaching three hundred million Czech crowns. For Sounds Good, this means shared know-how with international reach and access to AI innovations. Together we can simplify online shopping and provide our clients with a wider range of products and expertise in one place.
