🌐 About Markets

Markets help businesses manage their brand experience by assigning different settings to different countries and regions. A market can target a single country/region or a group of countries/regions.

🚀 First steps with Markets

🆕 For new Shopify users:

🔹 Primary market: Your main selling area, determined by your store's address and base currency.

🔹 International market: A list of popular countries/regions that similar merchants sell into. This market is inactive by default.

🔹 Countries you don't sell to: Countries/regions that aren't included in any other market. Customers from these regions cannot complete checkout.

🔄 For existing Shopify users:

🔹 Your previous settings are migrated into markets, such as the Primary market, single-country markets based on currencies and international domains, and the International market.

🔐 Staff permissions for managing markets

To access the Markets page, a staff member needs permission for:

  • 🔸 Multi-country markets: Contain more than one country/region. By default the base currency is your store's currency, but local currencies can be enabled.

🛃 This setting determines whether you collect duties and import taxes for orders shipped to this market. In this scenario, "Duties and import taxes are not collected."

Shipping:

🚚 Rates: The number of different shipping rates available for this market. Here it's "2 rates."

🌍 Shipping destinations: Determines where you ship to. In this case, "Shipping to Angola."
