June was hot... But Shopify made the market even hotter! πŸ”₯

From crypto payments with USDC via Coinbase to completely revamped analytics tools β€” the June updates from Shopify brought a serious dose of energy to merchants of all sizes. Here are the biggest highlights from June 2025!

Crypto goes mainstream!

Shopify Payments is now introducing support for USDC on the Base network. What does this mean for you? Shopify is integrating USDC, the leading digital US dollar currency, directly into your payment options. This changes the rules of the game for several reasons:

Simple payouts: By default, you'll receive payouts in your local currency, just like with standard Shopify Payments, with no foreign exchange fees or multi-currency charges. It's completely seamless.

Flexibility: If you choose, you can opt to receive payouts directly in USDC.

Expand your customer base: Instantly open your store to a new segment of customers who prefer to pay with cryptocurrency, potentially gaining new global sales.

This isn't just about "crypto"; it's about making your Shopify store more versatile, more global, and more efficient. Unfortunately, it's not yet available in the Czech Republic β€” as is often the case, payment matters take a little longer here (mainly due to our currency being different from the rest of the EU). Platform Updates

New analytics dashboards

Completely revamped analytics tools are now the default for every Shopify store, offering instant, deeper insights into your business. You can now view real-time data, create custom dashboards for key metrics, and build data explorations to analyze any combination of metrics and dimensions.

Plus, with ShopifyQL you can write custom queries directly from any report for maximum control. This powerful new tool, including ShopifyQL, is fully supported in the Shopify mobile app, so your store's performance is always in your pocket. Dive in and make smarter decisions for your business.

Menu duplication: a small change, a huge time-saver

It might seem like a minor addition, but it's a genuine time-saver we've been waiting for. No more tedious manual rebuilding of menus or relying on clunky workarounds.

Now just view any menu's details in your admin, click "duplicate," and you get an exact copy with all links perfectly preserved. This greatly simplifies creating similar navigation structures: think seasonal promotions, region-specific layouts, or A/B testing new designs β€” freeing up valuable time for more important tasks in your store. This is a fantastic quality-of-life improvement that will directly benefit your workflow. Screenshot of the feature

Managing "Shop Metafields" is now simpler

Store metafield definitions and values are now directly accessible in your Shopify Admin! This update significantly simplifies managing global store-wide data. No more relying on complex workarounds for unique content or settings. All your store's metadata is now visible and manageable directly in the interface.

This also means apps and developers have more flexible ways to create advanced customizations for your store, leveraging this newly accessible data through the Admin API.

In essence: more control, simpler management, and greater power for advanced customizations across your entire store β€” all at your fingertips.

Conditional payment terms at checkout

You can now conditionally define payment terms directly at checkout using the Payment Customization feature!

Beyond simply reordering or hiding payment methods, you can now set fixed, net, or event-based payment terms for each order, with optional deposits. This means you can customize when and how customers pay β€” for example, offering "Net 30" to specific clients or requiring upfront deposits for custom orders.

This update offers powerful flexibility for optimizing cash flow and customer agreements, right at the checkout.

New pagination limits for Liquid & Storefront API

Shopify has improved pagination limits for Liquid and the Storefront GraphQL API. This helps boost performance, especially for larger stores.

Here's what's new:

25,000-item limit: When your store or app paginates through long lists (like products) using Liquid or the Storefront API, the limit is now 25,000 items. Queries exceeding this limit will either result in an error or stop.

Larger Liquid pages: Good news! The maximum Liquid page size is now 250 (up from 50), allowing you to fetch more items at once.

If your store or custom code currently displays or paginates through more than 25,000 items without strong filtering, you'll need to adapt. Focus on adding more filters (e.g., by product type, price) to your collection pages. This is key both for performance and for staying within the limits.

POS updates

Shopify's vision is to be not only the default and best solution for online commerce, but to replicate that in retail as well. That's why it keeps making it easier to set up a store, even without expensive hardware. For now, most of these updates are limited to countries where POS is fully supported… But it's a sign of what's coming for all of us globally in the next few years. Tap to Pay is now in the Shopify mobile app.

Multiple customizations in a single cart

Shopify POS now allows you to add multiple customized versions of the same product variant into a single checkout.

No more separate transactions for items like two t-shirts with custom names, or multiple coffee orders with different details. You can now easily add each unique customization (via line item properties) of the same product directly to a single cart.

This update simplifies complex orders, making your in-store experience faster and more efficient.

Unification, not just integration

For enterprise companies, it's key to understand: true unification replaces costly integration. Connecting "best-of-breed" systems often creates a hidden burden of technical debt and endless maintenance.

Shopify advocates for unification: building your core commerce on a single platform where online and brick-and-mortar stores are natively connected, eliminating complex integrations altogether. Think of your smartphone β€” apps don't integrate; they're unified.

Why this matters for your business:

Eliminate the "fragmentation tax": No more wasting resources on technical overhead or inconsistent customer experiences.

Focus on growth: Your teams can support innovation and seamless customer journeys, instead of constantly debugging connections.

Real savings and growth: Research shows significant cost reductions and an average 8.9% increase in GMV for retailers unifying on Shopify.

To fully understand how Shopify's approach is fundamentally different and what a truly unified commerce operation looks like, I highly recommend reading the full article on retail unification. It's time to move from the complexity of integrations to the power of native unification for real digital transformation. From integration to unification πŸ‘
